We developed and implemented a collaborative change network for a building products manufacturer.

Challenge

Our client, a manufacturer of building products, transformed its corporate infrastructure to a shared services model. An unintended result was the loss of localized change support for its ~160 dispersed manufacturing facilities.  Our client needed an efficient, cost-effective way to coordinate & support additional transformational changes at local sites without disrupting continuous manufacturing operations.

Approach

We partnered with our client to design and implement a collaborative Change Network that coordinates change interactions across shared services and local operations. The solution included a framework for change management, a new Operational Change Team, and a supporting prototype Portfolio tool. The initial design was completed in 12 weeks.  We continued to support our client through the full implementation of the Network over a 6 month period.

Value Delivered

The Operational Change Team, using our change management framework and the portfolio tool, now supports 5 shared services as they implement service-level changes at local facilities. Our client is also preparing for a full-scale ERP implementation at all facilities that will utilize this Change Network to manage system adoption.
